Enigin Advice - Save Energy use Your Own to get to Work

posted by enigin in General

Enigin are in the business of saving energy, which then saves money and greenhouse gas emissions.

In line with that we do try to be energy efficient in our behaviour most of the time. The area where Enigin employees and directors struggle slightly is the use of cars.

With Enigin plc’s HQ in a generally rural area of the UK it is difficult to use public transport, with some employees traveling quite a few miles to reach the office and then home again.

Hybrid and electric cars are an option, but currently (sic) very expensive and with a ridiculously short range for electric motors.

So the other option, for quite a few, is riding a bike to work. This save energy, the environment and money - but how much money?

Transparency and Honesty the new Buzz Words?

posted by enigin in Enigin Work, General

From politician salaries, honest journalists through to calorie counts on menu items, “transparency” is a buzzword for many in government and business circles. Calls for transparency and honesty are ever increasing.

In business it is the same - honesty and opening up yourself for all to see, with the obvious necessity of certain factors and processors remaining private, is seen as the way ahead.

Enigin Distributors are always pleased when they come to the Enigin HQ in the UK, as they always wonder if they smart websites are actually all run by someone form their bedroom!

Enigin - Food glorious food

The recipe posted below sounds great - definately will be trying that one.

One great recipe book is a Jamie Oliver one, Ministry of Food. Amongst our friends it had become a must have recipe book. Especially for the men!

It is full of easy to cook recipes, especially for first time cooks. But they are also great recipes that taste wonderful. I would recommend to anyone, including those advanced and experienced cooks. It includes lots of sauces and easy to make suppers. But also very basic meals simply made easier.

Why are there so many lousy managers or bad bosses around?

Often because they accept and promote toxic beliefs, all of which are accepted by many in the business world. These beliefs are turning otherwise sane individuals into raging management idiots.

At Enigin we realise the importance of managers and bosses who think differently to often accepted norm, and we encourage Enigin Distributors to make sure their managers do not fall into the trap of implementing and believing these beliefs.

Here are 6 toxic beliefs, highlighted recently on Bnet.com. so that protect yourself against them, primarily by avoiding appointing those managers who hold them dear.

Be forewarned, though.  If some of these beliefs make sense to you, you might very well be on the road to becoming a lousy boss yourself.

Here is the first one:
