Warmer Nights and Darker Mornings

posted by enigin in Fun Stuff

Are you wrapping up already for the dark evenings, dark mornings and colder days? I actually enjoy this time of year. It feels cosy and comforting, wrapping up in coats and scarves, gloves and boots. Long winter walks with the family, and heart warming meals.

I love sitting by a log fire in a pub, with a lovely hot chocolate. Another wonderful thing for this time of year! A warming hot chocolate with all the trimmings, cream, marshmallows and sprinkled chocolate. And it doesn’t even take much work to do at home! Why not try a REAL hot chocolate.

THE ENIGIN YEAR VANISHES…Whoosh ……Gone!

Strange as it seems but the older you get the quicker the time seems to fly by.  Why it only seems like yesterday when we here at Enigin were discussing summer and now it’s Autumn.

This is the time of year when we should be planning for those cold winter weeks by making the most of the abundance of food that needs to be collected  and stored for the onslaught.  Blackberries, Sloe’s, other fruit  and vegetables that may still be on the tree’s or in the ground that if left will ruin.  Get it picked and either frozen for later use or pickled.  Nows the time to get the sloe gin on for Christmas.  A good tip is to freeze the sloe’s before use as this releases the pectin and makes for better gin…Hicc!!!!

Enigin Advice - Save Energy use Your Own to get to Work

posted by enigin in General

Enigin are in the business of saving energy, which then saves money and greenhouse gas emissions.

In line with that we do try to be energy efficient in our behaviour most of the time. The area where Enigin employees and directors struggle slightly is the use of cars.

With Enigin plc’s HQ in a generally rural area of the UK it is difficult to use public transport, with some employees traveling quite a few miles to reach the office and then home again.

Hybrid and electric cars are an option, but currently (sic) very expensive and with a ridiculously short range for electric motors.

So the other option, for quite a few, is riding a bike to work. This save energy, the environment and money - but how much money?
